![]() I would suggest this to everyone looking to suppress an AK and not wanting to buy a dedicated AK suppressor Otherwise it is a great product, paired well with the KNS adjustable gas piston for suppressed fire. If there was a way to cut a small detent on this converter it would be more perfect than it already is. The only issue I had was the AK heating up to the point where the muzzle device loosened and could be threaded Had no issue with concentricity and everything worked flawlessly. I use all of griffin armaments products & this is no exceptionīought this for mounting my Sandman-S on my PSA AK104 GF4. Published by Joseph D Gilliam on 16th Aug 2022 5 Awesome product would & will re buy this!!.No timing need, great snug fit, and is concentric with my Arsenal SLR-106F. This adapter blows those loosey goose detent adapters out of the water. Very quick shipping and fits as described. Published by Phillip Crane on 20th Oct 2022 The mount fits snugly with no wiggle so I can safely mount my suppressor. Easy to install, accurate, and well made. 5/8x24 muzzle device then mounted easily onto the adapter. Worked perfectly, threaded easily onto the pre-existing 24x1.5 threads. shims not included but may be utilized to time attached muzzle devices. It is the buyers responsibility to k now the thread pitch of their AK type rifle/pistol. 27mm wrench flats are provided for ease of installation.ġ/2x28 units are compatible with 5.45 and 5.56mm 24mm AK's, while 5/8x24 units are 7.62x39 and lesser caliber compatible. We recommend 50ft lbs of torque for installation, and qualified gunsmith installation and alignment checks prior to suppressor use. For rifles that have clean muzzle faces that are perpendicular to the bore, this will permit excellent alignment to occur. These adapters feature a raised surface that interacts with the muzzle face of the barrel rather than the front sight base, permitting vastly superior theoretical alignment accuracy than the detented and loose, rattle-trap devices common to these systems. Having said that, I see no use for an AK-12 muzzle brake, especially if shooting 5.45x39. My SAR-2 Romanian is a pleasure to shoot even with the brake on. We analyzed dimensions from several eastern European countries to design 17-4 billet machined adapters capable of rendering AK's suppressor and mount compatible with devices requiring alignment and timing like brakes and compensators. I actually find that AK-74/100 series muzzle brakes are better than say Battle Comps and Surefire Procomps, etc. These aren't hardware store grade adapters. I run a simple three-prong on my Vepr that I bought for 7 bucks from Northern gun parts, looks like the old original M-16 flash hider, works fine at hiding flash, and actually provides some braking ability.īut bottom line: The AK round is easy enough for children to handle the recoil, it doesn't do shit to a full grown man, i've had someone video me with high-speed camera shooting an AK on several occasions now because we were curious about this very subject, and even with NO muzzle device there is almost no perceptable muzzle rise, nor rearward movement of my upper body except for right at the point of contact with the buttstock and that was less than an inch or so.įucking Tapco slot brake will actually drive the muzzle down, damn thing works great, try it for keeping mag dumps on-target, it's a hoot.Griffin Armament 24mm x 1.5mm thread adapters give your compatible AK platforms 1/2x28 or 5/8x24 threads. Simplest still works best for the most part. Pshaw.still have yet to see one of these expensive brakes do anything better than a Tapco slot brake will do, it's marketing hype, muzzle devices have been around now for centuries, and they have tried every imaginable design.
